Dr. Megan Miranda received her doctoral degree from The University of Akron in Counselor Education and Supervision with a specialty in Marriage and Family Therapy. She has years of experience working with couples, families and individuals ranging from early childhood through late adulthood on a variety of presenting concerns. She specializes in treating trauma. She is a certified EMDR therapy and EMDRIA Approved EMDR consultant. Megan also has a passion for assisting those she works with to gain self-compassion through understanding the neurobiological impact of trauma on mood and behaviors.
She is a seasoned educator and has taught several Master’s-level Counseling courses as an adjunct faculty member at The University of Akron.

Dr. Elizabeth Molla is a graduate from the University of Akron with a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision with a Marriage and Family Therapy focus. She is a licensed Independent Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Clinical Counselor. Elizabeth is passionate about supporting and advocating for marginalized and vulnerable populations. She has experience working with foster care youths, LGBTQ+ community, BIPOC community, couples, families and individuals of all ages. Elizabeth utilizes an attachment based, trauma informed, and systemic lens in her clinical approach on a variety of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, generational trauma, communication, sexuality, maternal depression, attachment injuries, and parenting among others. She specializes in treating trauma using EMDR and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Laura is a graduate of The University of Akron with a Master’s of Arts in Education in Marriage and Family Therapy. Laura has experience working with adolescents, individuals, couples and families. She is certified in EMDR and can assist with a variety of presenting concerns including, anxiety, trauma, depression, domestic violence, LGBTQ+ concerns, anger management and relationship issues.

Lindsey is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Marriage and Family Therapist. She earned her master’s degree from The University of Akron’s Marriage and Family Therapy program. She has experience working with couples, families, adolescents and individuals, covering an array of topics including depression, anxiety, trauma, family conflict, marital conflict, and co-parenting. Additional training includes EMDR and working with families of youth using Multisystemic Therapy. Andrea is a graduate from Case Western Reserve University with a Master of Science in Social Administration. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker- Supervisor. Andrea enjoys working with clients of all ages (ages 3 and up), and has a special interest in working with trauma/ PTSD, dissociation, and sexual abuse. Andrea is committed to ongoing professional training to stay up to date on evidence-based practices. She utilizes a strength based and trauma informed approach. Andrea is a Certified EMDR Therapist and is an EMDRIA approved Consultant. Andrea offers EMDR Intensive sessions (sessions over 1 hour) for self-pay clients. She also has training in expressive arts therapies (dance/ yoga/ sand tray interventions) and motivational interviewing. Andrea is often joined by River, a golden retriever therapy dog in training.

She works with teenagers, couples and individuals using a trauma-informed approach from a systems lens. She is trained in EMDR. Nikita works together with clients to create stable boundaries, rebuild self-esteem and reflect on challenging moments. She uses a collaborative approach to create a respectful and safe environment as you proceed on your unique journey to healing. When she works with couples, she helps them remember why they chose one another, identifies specific areas they want to improve, and rebuilds trust and intimacy. Ryan is a graduate from Malone University with a Master of Arts in Education. She is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. Ryan has experience working with children, adolescence, and adults. Ryan specializes in adolescence, trauma, eating disorders, self-injury, and can assist with a variety of presenting concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, behavioral issues, and eating disorders. Ryan is trained in EMDR, CBT, DBT, Art Therapy, and Client Centered Therapy. Ryan also enjoys utilizing yoga and taekwondo to connect with body work and process trauma.

Angie is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in couples therapy. She has her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from the University of Akron. Fusing Gottman techniques with EFT principles, Angie works with couples to help them identify negative patterns and break out of destructive cycles, especially focusing on communication blocks. Angie also works with individuals and adolescents on a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and feeling overwhelmed. She uses Mindfulness, Solution Focused, and CBT techniques and is also able to incorporate faith-based principles, per client request. Katharine Fertig MSW, LISW-S, LICDC graduated from the University of Akron with a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a Master’s degree of Social Work. Katharine worked with children with severe behavior disorders for 11 years. Katharine was also the recovery specialist at a group home for clients with severe persistent mental health. She has been working as an outpatient counselor and intensive outpatient counselor for the past several years in community mental health as well as a Trauma Care Coordinator. The focus of her clinical work utilizes EMDR Therapy, as well as expressive arts, mindfulness, and meditation. She has done extensive training on Dissociative Identity Disorder.
Katharine is a graduate of the Institute for Creative Mindfulness EMDR Therapy Training Program and EMDR Certified Therapist through EMDRIA, as well as a EMDRIA approved consultant. She has also trained with ICM as a Certified Dancing Mindfulness Facilitator and Certified Expressive Arts Therapist.

Sydney Weisel is a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master's in Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Kent State University. Sydney has experience working with adolescents and adults with a variety of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, and interpersonal challenges. Noelle completed her advanced education at Cleveland State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology, a minor in sociology, and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Here she completed undergraduate research on the sexual education system and how this relates to LGBTQ+ issues and adolescent trauma. Noelle values being a lifetime learner to help her build upon existing knowledge and develop new methods of helping folks reach their goals.
Noelle works with adolescents, adults, and families. Her specialty interests include: girls’ and women’s issues, neurodivergence (ADHD & Autism), sexual and gender identity, anxiety disorders, and trauma. Bradley Haramis has master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Akron. He has experience working with couples, families, and individuals of all ages. His passion lies in facilitating safe spaces where families and couples can explore their narratives, unearth deeper truths, and develop healthier patterns of communication and interaction. She is informed by a holistic psychotherapy and mind-body approach to mental health and is passionate about customized mental health solutions that include integrative, alternative and functional approaches to overall health and well being.

Prior to becoming a therapist, Allison worked in many facets of the mental health field, including crisis intervention, substance abuse prevention, and residential and psychiatric treatment for children and adolescents. Aubrie has experience working in foster care, groups, hospitals, and the community with children, adolescents, adults, and families on a variety of presenting concerns such as foster care, attachment, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, PTSD, C-PTSD, independent living, behavioral challenges, self-esteem, familial conflict, and LGBTQIA+ concerns. Aubrie is dedicated to understanding how early childhood experiences, trauma, and attachments shape individuals throughout the lifespan. She is passionate about advocating for BIPOC, neurodivergent, and LGBTQIA+ clients and aims to create an inclusive and affirming space for clients identity and experiences. Casey Swiger

Casey is pursuing a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a substance use concentration at John Carroll University. Casey has experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, adolescents, and adults. She also has experience working in inpatient care, anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and substance abuse. She values building a strong and trusting relationship with her clients and believes therapy is a collaborative process where individuals can grow and heal. Casey is excited to continue growing as a counselor and make a positive impact on the clients she works with. Casey is under the supervision of Ashley Klingelsmith, IMFT-S, LPCC-S, F.1500026-SUPV, E.0700438-SUPV.

Brandon is currently pursuing his Masters Degree in Social Work from the Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences at Case Western Reserve University. He has nearly 20 years of experience in the field of social work with experiences in residential treatment facilities and the child welfare system. He is familiarized with several treatment modalities to address depression, anxiety, trauma and other concerns, with specializations in EMDR, Adventure and EquineTherapy. Brandon sees clients in-person and via telehealth. Brandon is under the supervision of Katharine Fertig MSW, LISW-S, LICDC, EMDRIA approved consultant, I.2002388-SUPV., LICDC,162392."

Amber Keaton

Amber is an artist and facilitator who creates spaces for community transformation and healing through utilizing the arts. Amber is currently working towards obtaining a Masters in Art Therapy and Counseling at Ursuline College, and is trained in EMDR. She is passionate about somatic (body-rooted) approaches to therapy that utilize the expressive arts (drawing, painting, poetry, theatre, dance, etc.), the power of culture, and the magic of storytelling. Amber is passionate about the flourishing of BIPOC communities, LGBTQ+ communities, and celebrates the spectrum of neurodiversity. She believes we have all tools within ourselves to heal, and sees herself as a companion in the journey. If talk therapy hasn't been working, if you find yourself "stuck," or if you want therapy sessions that involve art and play as part of processing, Amber may be a fit for you. Michelle is our Client Care Coordinator and has worked in the mental health field in a variety of roles since 2014. She graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from The University of Akron. Michelle serves as a liaison between new clients and the clinicians.

Pamela (Po) is our Administrative Specialist and Client Care Coordinator. Po attended the University of Sorocaba majoring in Architecture. She moved to the United States in 2016 from South America and is a proud Mama. Po has worked in administrative and leadership roles for several years and is passionate about helping others. At The Azalea Institute, Po serves as a liaison between new clients and clinicians along side Michelle, and attends to administrative duties.

Amanda Smith C.A.

Amanda is our Billing Administrator and assists clients with billing concerns and resolving issues. Amanda is passionate about helping others and serving the community. She graduated from Kent State University with a degree in Criminal Justice and minors in Human Development/Family Studies and Non-profit Management. Amanda is a registered advocate through the National Organization of Victim Assistance (NOVA). Amanda is active in the community and facilitates the monthly Immigrant and Refugee Ohio Coalition (IROC) to End Sexual Violence and is the Creative Development Chair for the Summit County Collaborative Against Human Trafficking.
